How to Claim

If your search has resulted in a property that you would like to claim, and you believe you can provide proof of ownership, follow these two simple steps:

1. Fill out a Claim Form

You must first complete a Claim Form so that we can make a preliminary determination of entitlement.

There are two ways to complete your form:

1. Online
2. Print and Complete

Please note that a claim form will only be produced if there is a match to a name in our database.

Include any information that could be useful. Missing or incorrect information may hinder our ability to process your request so be sure to review your Claim Form and make certain it is correct.

2. Send in your Claim Form

1. Online - when you fill out the on-line form you will be prompted to automatically submit.
2. Printed Form - return via email, mail or fax:

Please note that our office is not open to the public.

Next Steps

When we receive your completed form, we will review it carefully and compare it with information in our files. You will be contacted if additional information is needed. Once we receive all required documentation and can confirm ownership, we will release the property.

We generally process and pay claims within 30 days. More complex claims, such as intestate estates, may take longer.
